The UI you mentioned was exactly what i thought of when i read the blue post too. it looks like this may push holy into a sort of stance healing idea. looks to be fun but now i may need to level another priest for pve/pvp disc and pve/pvp holy (cant believe i said pvp holy but yeah...)
all in all it sounds fun so far.(then again my idea of fun is a bit weird)

"Maybe it’s just me, but the changes are more underwhelming than druids got."

Presume you aren't talking about the RESTO druid changes specificly? (@Sheralyn)

Well from the preview of Chakra that we got so far, as I said on Ava's post, I like where it's going.
I don't think Blizzard intends for it to restrict you to a couple of spells to maintain the buff. I imagine they have something clever in mind. A quick example I just made up would be to have a stacking buff that lasts 5 second, but is refreshed every time you cast PoH/CoH/Renew, and then a separate buff for Flash/Heal/Gheal. Then you can build up both buffs independently, but you would struggle to keep both of them up without nerfing your healing (overheal, mana inefficiency).
So, then if you did need to send out a quick AoE or single target heal while stacking the opposite buff, you wouldn't be penalized.
I guess it would work something like that.

I had a big long comment then one of my kids touched my phone while I was looking the other way. So I'll sum it up. I'm not impressed with the changes. They seem like "oh shiny" distractions being thrown around. My priest has already went shadow when we first went into icecrown because she was having issues competing with pally and Druid healing. So now my pally is my main for our progression group, and I bring mana replen and light aoe healing to our second group. Maybe it's just me, but the changes are more underwhelming than druids got.

Derevka, do you really want to turn into a pretty angel? Wait.. nevermind.

On a more serious note.. I think it's a very interesting concept but I try to make the other changes to our class click in. For example the FSR change impacts this imo. Without having to "break for 5 seconds" I can imagine that stopping with healing for 2 seconds could be considered interesting as well. This might allow us a more relaxed and restricted to "one type of spell" approach than we are at now, while remaining flexible should the situation call for it.

By making mana an issue again, we risked falling back to the FSR dance style which is, in reality, more a concern to your spell selection and healing style. With these chakra's I think they may be swapping the FSR dance for a Chakra dance. (Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTsPLl1wmbM)
Throughput and spell concerns get merged while offering a challenge: 'Should I cast this spell? What's the cost? Can I delay it just a bit more and use another spell?'.

I think it's a very interesting move and I'm looking forward to the implementation. I'm looking forward to how this will affect the gameplay.

I think there is a slight misunderstanding there. Now I don't play a priest, but I do play a druid healer.
What I understand from the blue post is: if you cast a direkt heal spell, all your direkt heal spells will be buffed. For example: If you cast greater heal, your flash heal, heal and greater heal will be buffed. It doesn't need to be 3 x Greater Heal to get the bonus, but for example you could cast: Greater Heal – Flash Heal – Flash Heal and you would still get the tank heal bonus. now if you cast prayer of healing all your aoe healing spells will be buffed. Now what they actualy count in that category I don't know. I would gues that PoH, the fountain are definitly two but maybe also Renew.

So in short I would say it's all about spamming a certain type of spell (aoe or direkt heals) rather than spamming one and the same spell over and over again.
