It made ICC raiding boring and forced me to stop playing my priest outside raids, I don’t want that again and will most likely look at switching to Holy simply to keep healing fun and if Holy is suboptimal by too much I don’t know what I’ll do.

I agree, it’ll be good to see what happens in 5.2 in he Holy v Disc debate… But it’ll be more meaningful in 25 man while 10 /will/ have the PWS juggernaut.

I agree that holy doesn’t feel underpowered, and I would look forward to the changes in 5.2 if I didn’t have an ominous sense that it’ll just turn Disc into the 10-man bubble-spam juggernaut.

I use to glyph instant HF, Smite and Reflective Shield.

You can easily outrank a typical random damage dealer with a gear of around 490 and using the shadow fiend as a DPS-booster. The rotation gets clear if you combine the benefits from the glyphs.

But as Derevka said Holy won’t ever be competitive with DPS classes regarding raids, as we are not designed for it. What you described was a Holy pushing DPS to a limit. A good player on a DPS class with similar gear should easily top this output. Not to mention the huge amount of healing you loose, when sending a Holy out to do only damage ;)

I for my part really do DPS on windlord (there is nothing to heal in the beginning) and similar bosses. And sometimes I try to save us from enrage, which – to be honest – never helped… :P

Last night I was running with one of my alt Priests (healing as DISC) with a guild that is WAY more friendly and less on Progression. They have only cleared MV with their current comp (which changes a LOT).

They had a DPS Holy Priest topping thier meters! 70 – 80K dps! Some 90k. Over 110K on Elagon.

I level was around 490 I think. DPS trinkets (DMF and the Haste+DoT proc). he had NO problems killing 5 ords ALONE and even went over 200K dps on the initial trash until the AoE debuff went out and only dropeb to 120k overall!

I know when I did dailies on main when Holy/Disc that Holy DID kill faster!

Shadow gives 25% SHADOW damage boost + 5% spell haste. However 2 more dots!

Holy gets a FLAT 50% increased Shadow AND Holy damage boost! Instant HF and Smite boost with glyph and keep SW:P running! I need to look at his rotation.

ALSO note that Holy gets Evangelizm stacks, just no archangel to use but WHY would they! LoL.

So Smite x 50% boost + eval x5 + glyph increase = nice smite hits!!
