Ding! 80!

Last night I hit 80! Woot! Let’s discuss how pissed I was though.
There I am, questing in Icecrown; ExperienceFu tells me I have 1800XP needed to level and I have 3 quests to turn in, with the closest being at Icecrown Citadel. “OK, off to the Citadel it is!”
Mount up on my trusty Gryphon, I hit Num Lock and turn around to talk to my better half and say I’m about to hit 80 (and thus can return to “real life” after a weekend of grinding). Then, there it is…
Bwwooonnngggg!

Leveling Madness!

It is here.
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King is in full force, and I must admit it went a lot smoother than expected. No major server outages, just a restart here and there for standard maintenance. /Clap Blizzard
I will admit, I was in line at my local Game Stop at 10:50, and I was about #30 in line. I got out of the store by 12:15, was home and my account upgraded by 12:30 and on my way to Northrend. I didn’t really do much that night, …

It’s the Final Countdown!

Now that I have everyone singing Europe’s song “Final Countdown” – its time to really prepare for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. Midnight EST/9PM PST – the realms will be launching Wrath. Do you have your copy?
I strongly urge everyone to prepare the best they can, here are some pointers that I think can help everyone pass the time until Midnight.

Know your gear upgrades – research on WoW-Loot.com, wowhead.com, or other database sites. It is important to not waste your time chasing upgrades that might only be …

Tree Recap – Part II: Holy & New Baseline Spells

Part II in my 2-Part series on recapping the Talent Trees, prior to Wrath.
Holy
OverviewThe main “healing tree”. Priests are unique when compared to Druids, Shaman, and Paladins – we have 2 healing trees, while the other classes, could really just dump all their points into one tree and “boom!”, healing spec’d!
Priests nearly always have to take a mix of Discipline and Holy. For you’ll see most Holy priests going into Disc for Meditation and Inner Focus (to chain for 5 Sec Rule, breaking) for mana regen. Then dumping the rest …

Tree Recap – Part I: Discipline

Wrath is almost here, so perhaps its time to pause, breathe, and perhaps QQ a little less? Its coming at us like a train, its time we prepare. (Insert obligatory Illidan “You are not prepared!” pun here).
DwarfPriest.com did a fantastic write up on gear/stats, which I will touch on in this series, but she did a great job so here’s a link to it. What I plan on doing is looking at both the new talents, or the completely changed ones in the Holy and Discipline trees from a healing …

Circle of Healing and Cooldowns

Circle of Healing has been through the gambit of changes from Alpha, to Beta, to 3.0, and soon to be Wrath. From instant with no cooldown, to a 10 sec cooldown, to a 6 sec cooldown, back to instant. Well based on some information from Ghostcrawler, it looks like we are going to see a change.
“Circle of Healing / Wild Growth / Chain HealBased on feedback from this forum, elsewhere and our own brainstorming, what we are thinking about right now is something like a 6 sec cooldown for …

Of UI, AddOns, and the like

Every healer knows that having your UI and Raid Frames be functional for you, is a priority. A clean and functional UI is something I obsess over. So, the first thing I needed to do was purge my old UI, and really think about what AddOns I actually USED. There are some mods out there, that I simply do not like or use – read: Clique, Healbot, and Grid. Here is what I came up with. All these work with 3.0.X versions of WoW, and thus will require minimal tweaking …

Seven Days and Counting

Well, WotLK is launching in 7 days (technically 6 days, 11 hours, and 41 minutes at the time of this post) and you can feel it in the air when you log onto the realms.
More and more guilds stopping raiding in effort to prep for the race to 80 and start raiding again. My guild made a conscious decision to not raid post 3.0. Call it foolhardy, call it too preemptive, or call it the right idea – I think it was a good idea, I don’t want the pity …

Another WOW Blog, or is it?

I’ve always somewhat been the anti-blogger, I’m more of a forum troll myself: Guild forums, mmo-champ forums, Blizzard Realm/Class forums. But after reading a lot of the other blogs out there, I’ve decided to make the leap.
Don’t get me wrong, I really like the content that is put together at a lot of the other priest blogs, but, perhaps, if I focused on only Healing (which is what I do, I don’t raid shadow) I could work on a great Priest Blog. There is always room for more blogs out …
